Lulu Belle's Animal Haven

I can handle the dry-erase markers on my walls and the new ottoman.

I can handle the stealthy intrusion into my purse for a quick raid of my MAC Viva Glam lipstick. (plus a detour to the bandaid-rich zipper pouch of my purse).

I can even handle the minor infraction of an entire gallon of milk spilled, well, everywhere.
Note how she blithely continues eating her cracked wheat while the milk drips into the entire surface area of my kitchen. Naturally I blame myself for leaving the milk out.

But the urination pitstop on top of the drawers in the closet?
[narrowly avoiding Caroline's Minnie Mouse ears]

This blatant disregard for common decency almost bought Charlotte a one-way Greyhound ticket straight to Lulu Belle's Animal Shelter in beautiful Brawley, CA.
My dad used to threaten to send us there when he was fed up with us, and now my sisters and I throw this empty threat around on especially challenging days.

It was fortuitous for my little Puffy Sue that I had even a shred of perspective this week (thanks, General Conference!), and opted instead for some innocuous and probably meaningless time-outs. She's lucky I grabbed the camera and not the switch.
{Insert exhaustion}.

Charlotte wouldn't do that. I think it was a neighbor. :)

I always threaten to sell my kids to the gypsies. It took me a minute to realize that she had spilled the milk all over. I am so sorry!

Kate (who is 5) was in her room yesterday throwing the biggest screaming fit ever and decided to just pee her pants, just because. Her response was, "My shorts just leaked! They didn't hold it in!" Ya think?!
Good time, good times.

Ha ha. Oh no! That rivals Amy's -Ryan hoarding pee in the closet story. Yuck yuck yuck. Sounds like you have been busy. :)

Sounds like my house. Jayden is potty trained and Emelie is potty training....along with our new puppy. Guess who pees all over our floor? I'll give you a hint...not the puppy. :D

the same thing has happened at my house! Though instead of lipstick, it was black eye liner- when asked, he just said " I just be tiger, mom"

Oh my goodness! I've had that kind of week. Ink pen on the new leather couch & ottoman ... pistachios in the dump truck and throughout the house ... etc., etc. I FEEL for you!

Oh my - that's awesome. I just cried. Partly because I was laughing so hard, but also because I saw my own life in your photos. And, honestly, how do we do it? The messes, the messes, the messes. Oh, the messes. How smart you are to skip the other emotions and just go straight to appreciating the photo op. Well done. H

It's like Lord of the Flies! Please tell me that at least you were really enjoying your life while all this was going on:) If this goes on while I nap, I can deal. If I'm somwhere else cleaning, someone is gonna pay!

Best blog post ever. Wow. In my head I'm thinking, thank heavens my kids would never do something like that cuz they know I'd kill them...but if I say that outloud it'll happen to me next week. (Just like the time I was telling someone that Laura had never attempted to cut her own hair because she was smarter than that, and she was not even within earshot, and then the VERY next week she gave herself a mullet.)

I could relate to several of those same incidents, although I hope that last one passes us by!

I love the photo with the spilled milk - good thing some of it made it into her bowl so as not to interrupt her snack or breakfast or whatever it was.

...nail polish all over the bathroom wall, wood cabinets and tile floor (including the grout)!

Just another day in the life of a mother.

Oh my gosh Karen, DYING! That is one busy little gal. Her and Garrett would have quite the party together. Way to go on keeping your calm. I just about hyperventalated just seeing the pics.
