Need a post, Bekz?

Dilemma du jour:
Black tie wedding this weekend in San Diego.
(Old friends from Mexicali).
I'll mail anybody a $20 bill if they can find me a floor length evening gown that covers my parts.
And doesn't make me look 84 years old. Why the dearth of modest dresses?
Naturally I blame global warming.

{Black cashmere sweater w/"sugarcane" ballskirt. I do so love the raspberry clutch.}

Nice job Ellison. She can work a camera pretty well.

I like #2 the best. Both look good, but the second one is more elegant. I think that the red purse really adds a nice touch too.

Have fun!

#2 gets my vote, though both are flattering.

No no no! #1 is the one for you. You look SMOKIN' HOT (maybe you shouldn't wear it, your friend i.e. the BRIDE, might be jealous!) I think it's very appropriate.
I wish I could help you on the floor length dress that doesn't make you look like a hooker or a grandma (funny that it can do both!). I haven't been looking for one lately.
What's your budget? Desired color?

You are so stinkin' hilarious sis. I love them both but the first one is my fave on you. Don't know about a floor length dress that covers your requirements. LOL You look great in both of them Karen. Good luck!

If money wasn't a problem (not saying that it is, but considering these economic times-- you know...)
I'd pick this one!

I've seen some friends wear this in the shorter one, and it's friggin' awesome.

Lindsay,
LOVE that dress, and I was going to see if they had it in-store, however, the back is a little low if ya know what I mean. I love the color and the lines, though.

Feeling your pain! we have a wedding in Malibu coming asap! Kimber picks the Black Cashmere and ballskirt! Which one did the girls pick?
Great eye Ellison! You and Kimber should do your own shoot sometime! :)

You know you couldn't go wrong with either choice, but my vote goes to #1. You look great and it shows off your fantastic legs.

Show the legs! You don't want to look like one of Warren Jeff's wives!...not that you could :)

Hi sis tobler,
This is heather (monsen) Graham. I've been reading your blog for the past few months and I am having the same dilemma. I have formal Christmas part to go to and nothing to wear. I loved the lace dress that you had on and was wondering where you got it, or any of the other articles of clothing. I spent 4 hours shopping and all I got was a grouchy husband.

Heather,
Black short dress Nordstrom, short sleeved cashmere (which I took back yesterday) from Ann Taylor, long skirt from Talbots, and white Victorian ruffle neck blouse from J. Crew. It started out as a fun little project trying to find something to wear but ended up a little drudgery-like. Good luck!
miss you.
