[CHILLAX]: (verb) To chill and/or relax.

For the past 25 years, (maybe more), my mom and dad, aunts, uncles, and cousins from my dad's side have rented the very same beach cottages in Mission Beach (called The Beach Cottages, appropriately). Mom and dad have occupied Room 210 for as long as I can remember. Too many memories to count. This year was even better. Because my sister Sus had the common sense to bring 19 year old babysitters. One for her, one for me. Not lugging a cantankerous 16 month old everywhere (Legoland, Balboa Park, out to dinner, etc) made the trip, well, downright relaxing for the first time since we had kids.

Lovely pics, Karen! Thanks for snapping a decent photo of us (I say "decent" for me. David looks pretty handsome!) It was so fun to see you guys! Can we get together in AZ soon? It was so fun to talk to you guys.

Hey, thanks for leaving a comment on Dalton's blog...he was SO excited! Gavin said that he talked with you about Thanksgiving. That would be so fun to see you guys again soon. We just did a family reunion with Dan's family at The Homestead, in Utah, and Gav was saying that it would be a perfect place for your family to meet at some time. We have one more week until the kids start school. How has it been for your bunch? Mine are excited to begin. I think that it will be a good year!

Soooooo smart to bring the teenagers. Paul and I once went to a wedding in Mexico where the bride had hired fulltime nannies for all the children. The celebration was super amazing and lasted for days and those nannies were awesome to our kids and changed everything for us.
